NALG delivers innovative environmental technology solutions across water treatment, waste management, pollution control, and sustainability services.
NALG and their technology partner, Kanadevia Inova, bring over 40 years of combined experience in designing, constructing, and operating advanced organic waste processing facilities.
Our adaptable, self-sustaining facility designs generate renewable energy and water on-site, reducing reliance on external resources.
The Proposal
NALG is proposing to establish a fully enclosed Food and Garden Organics (FOGO) processing facility to expand waste management services within the Mid-Coast Council region.
The composting facility will process up to 146,000 tonnes of organic waste annually to produce high-quality compost and green electricity from biogas.
It will accept waste streams such as Council FOGO, self-hauled material, agricultural residues, and industrial and commercial organics.

The Development Application Process
Due to the scale of the project, the application for planning approval will be a State Significant Development. An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is required under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 as part of the Development Application Process.
The EIS describes the proposed facility and assesses potential environmental and social impacts and benefits of the project. An EIS includes detailed studies to assess potential environmental issues such as noise, air quality (including odour), stormwater, and traffic and transport impacts. The project is placed on public exhibition and available on the Major Project Website.
